Basis is a pressure-reducing foam mattress for preventive care. The basic mattress covers up to high risk or wound grade 3. Recommended user weight is 30-150 kg.

Material and construction

The mattress features a high-resilience foam base that ensures the necessary stability when mobilizing patients. Designed for pressure ulcer prevention, the base mattress is equipped with a top layer of specialized, pressure-relieving viscoelastic foam. The mattress thus combines two key qualities: high quality and comfort in preventive care.

Reversible for extended lifespan

The base mattress is designed to be reversible, allowing the foam’s lifespan to be further extended through a rotation schedule.

High-quality cover

The mattress comes with a waterproof yet breathable incontinence cover. The cover features a three-sided zipper, making it easy to remove and wash. The zipper is protected by a large overlap that prevents liquid from seeping through to the foam core. The mattress core is encased in a fabric sleeve (tricot), which makes it easy to insert and remove the mattress from the cover for washing. The tricot sleeve also ensures that the foam core and cover glide smoothly against each other without resistance, preventing friction and shear forces from being transferred to the user.
